Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Human Rights Unit at the Institute organized a workshop titled “Freedom of Expression in Accordance with Legal Regulations”. The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Fatima Thair Mahdi, Director of the Legal Affairs Unit at the Psychological Research Center.
The Dean’s Assistant, Dr. Saif A. Mohammed, along with a number of faculty members and staff, attended the event.
The workshop addressed the concept of freedom of expression as a fundamental right guaranteed by the constitution and the law, while highlighting the legal regulations governing it. It emphasized the importance of adhering to legal and ethical responsibilities when exercising this right, contributing to the promotion of a culture of dialogue and respect for differing opinions within educational and societal institutions.
The workshop also witnessed active participation from the attendees through a series of questions and discussions related to the reality of freedom of expression in society and the mechanisms for its implementation within sound legal frameworks.
At the end of the workshop, the Dean’s Assistant, on behalf of the Dean, presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her efforts and for the success of the workshop.
