Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of The Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr.Kadhum AbdulWahid Adem, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean, Prof. Asst. Dr. Saif Akeel Muhammad, along with a group of students from various academic programs, the Employment and Follow-Up Unit at the Institute organized a workshop titled “The Student Discipline Law: Rights and Duties.”The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Mina Mahdi Abdullah in the auditorium of Professor Dr. Mazen Manuel Elias. The aim of the workshop was to educate students on the important legal provisions based on the stipulations of Paragraph (2) of Article (73) of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Law, which include adherence to the laws, internal regulations, and instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its institutions (university, authority, college, institute). These stipulations emphasize that:
There should be no offense to religious beliefs, national unity, or national sentiments, whether through actions or statements that deliberately provoke sectarian, ethnic, or religious strife.
The educational process within lectures should not be obstructed. Moreover, it was explained that the penalties that may be imposed on a student in case of violation of these duties range from a warning to final expulsion from the educational institution. It was also clarified that a student has the right to appeal within 60 days to the Administrative Court.
