The Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad hosted a ministerial committee specialized in establishing postgraduate programs, in an official visit aimed at following up and evaluating the possibility of launching new academic programs as part of the development plans adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The visit aimed to study the establishment of a master’s program in Laser Applications in Sciences, in accordance with the regulations and contexts approved for establishing postgraduate programs.
The committee was received by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Kadhim Abdul Wahid Adem, accompanied by the Assistant Dean, Dr. Saif Aqeel Muhammad, Head of the Biological and Medical Applications Department, Prof. Dr. Fadhil Muhammad Lafta, and Head of the Engineering and Industrial Applications Department, Dr. Hannan Jafar Taher.
During the visit, faculty members and staff presented a detailed presentation on the scientific and administrative situation, academic and technical readiness, as well as the proposed study plans and implementation mechanisms for the new programs.
The field visit included inspecting the institute’s infrastructure, specialized laboratories, medical clinics, scientific library, and research capabilities, as well as the supporting academic staff for establishing the programs.
The committee expressed satisfaction with the level of organization and available facilities, praising the efforts made by the institute’s administration and scientific staff, confirming that this step is in line with the ministry’s directions to develop postgraduate studies and enhance scientific research in the fields of laser applications in modern sciences, contributing to providing the job market with specialized scientific expertise.
