The Council of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies at University of Baghdad held its twelfth session, chaired by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, and attended by the Assistant Dean and the heads of scientific departments, to discuss a number of academic and administrative files aimed at developing institutional work and advancing the educational and research process at the Institute.
The session witnessed the issuance of a package of decisions and directives that contribute to enhancing the quality of academic and administrative performance. The Council emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings of the scientific departments and the Photonics Unit, with proper documentation of minutes and follow-up on the implementation of recommendations and decisions issued.
The Council also directed the Scientific Committee to follow up on scientific promotions and research submitted for publication in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations, and to work on completing them within the specified time frames, in support of scientific research and enhancing the quality of academic output.
As part of improving the educational environment, the Council stressed the need to take care of the infrastructure of lecture halls and laboratories, and to prepare periodic reports on technical needs and required maintenance to ensure a suitable educational environment for students and researchers.
The Council also emphasized the importance of adopting modern and diverse evaluation methods to measure learning outcomes, contributing to raising the level of academic performance and achieving educational quality standards. The Student Affairs Division was directed to follow up on academic and administrative issues and address problems with responsibility and cooperation, ensuring the rights of students and the formation.
The importance of enhancing the culture of teamwork, adhering to official working hours, and administrative instructions was also emphasized, reflecting the level of institutional discipline and enhancing performance efficiency.
These decisions come as part of the Institute’s Council efforts to upgrade the quality of education and scientific research and improve administrative performance, in line with the strategic goals of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies and University of Baghdad.
