The Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies receives the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Committee.

The Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies at University of Baghdad received the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security Committee affiliated with the Research and Development Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in a field visit aimed at reviewing the reality of safety and prevention procedures in scientific laboratories.

The committee was received by the Assistant Dean, Lecturer Dr. Saif Aqeel Mohammed, the Head of the Medical and Biological Applications Branch, Prof. Dr. Fadel Mohammed Lafta, and the officials of the biological laboratories, Prof. Dr. Maysaa Kadhim Habash and Asst. Prof. Dr. Laila Mohammed Hassan, and the liaison member of the Chemical and Biological Committee at the Institute, Lecturer Dr. Manhal Hamid Ibrahim.

The visit included a field tour of the branch’s laboratories, including the educational and research laboratories, the pathological analysis laboratory and the microbiology laboratory, as well as monitoring ventilation and storage systems and mechanisms for handling hazardous materials.

The committee praised the level of organization and application of safety procedures, stressing the importance of continuing awareness and training to enhance a safe laboratory environment that supports the educational and research process.
