Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Human Rights Unit at the institute organized a workshop titled “Patient Rights and Safety in the Clinic”, attended by a number of the institute’s faculty members and staff. The workshop was part of awareness activities aimed at promoting health and human rights culture.
The workshop lectures were delivered by Dr. Haidar Mohammed Al-Ameri, a specialist fellow of the Arab Board of Medical Specializations and holder of a Ph.D. in Internal Medicine. He addressed the key rights that patients are entitled to within healthcare institutions, and the importance of providing a safe therapeutic environment that ensures patient safety while preserving their dignity and privacy.
The lecturer also reviewed the fundamental principles of proper medical practice and the procedures that must be followed to reduce medical errors and enhance the quality of healthcare services provided. He emphasized the importance of medical staff and personnel in health institutions adhering to professional and ethical standards.
The workshop witnessed active engagement from attendees through questions and contributions that enriched the discussion and helped clarify various aspects related to patients’ rights and safety.
At the end of the workshop, the Dean presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Haidar Mohammed Al-Ameri in recognition of his scientific efforts and contribution to the success of the workshop.
