The Scientific Affairs Unit held a workshop entitled: Drugs and Addiction

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, Dean of the Institute of Laser, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the Institute organized a workshop entitled “Drugs and Addiction”. The workshop was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hanan J. Taher, a faculty member at the Institute, and was attended by the Director of the Institute Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Assistant Dean Lecturer Dr. Saif A. Mohammed, and a number of professors, faculty members, and staff of the Institute.

The workshop addressed the definition of drug risks and their negative effects on the individual and society, as well as the causes of addiction and methods of prevention, while highlighting the importance of community awareness and the role of academic institutions in disseminating health and behavioral culture among youth.

The workshop also witnessed active interaction from the attendees through questions and interventions that enriched its scientific and awareness topics. The participants emphasized the importance of holding such activities that contribute to raising awareness of the danger of this phenomenon and its social and health consequences.

At the end of the workshop, the Dean presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her academic efforts and contribution to the success of the workshop.
