The Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies at University of Baghdad held a national celebration on the occasion of National Sovereignty Day, in the presence of the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, and the Assistant Dean, Lecturer Dr. Saif A. Mohammed, alongside a number of professors and staff, in an atmosphere that expressed pride in national identity and belonging to Iraq.
The celebration began with the playing of the Iraqi national anthem and the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the souls of Iraq’s martyrs, amid an atmosphere filled with feelings of pride and honor for the homeland, and recalling the importance of national sovereignty as a fundamental pillar for the independence of Iraqi decision-making, protecting state institutions and preserving their gains.
The Dean of the Institute affirmed that national sovereignty represents a supreme value and a firmly rooted national responsibility, which requires strengthening unity, consolidating the principles of citizenship, supporting state institutions, and joint work towards building a strong, secure, stable and prosperous Iraq.
This celebration comes within the framework of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies’ keenness to enhance national awareness among its members, consolidate the values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, and commemorate national occasions that embody the will of the Iraqi people to preserve their independence, sovereignty and national unity.
