The Medical and Biological Applications Branch at the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies – University of Baghdad held its council meeting, under the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, and chaired by the Head of the Branch, Prof. Dr. Fadhil M. Lafta, and in the presence of the Branch Rapporteur, Lecturer Dr. Noor T. Ismail, and a number of faculty members.
The meeting discussed a number of academic and administrative issues and branch affairs, along with the Institute’s recommendations, as the council approved adding topics on artificial intelligence applications to the lectures for the academic year 2026-2027, and emphasizing the adoption of the University of Baghdad exclusively as an affiliation in published research for postgraduate students who are employees.
The council also stressed adherence to attendance signatures and daily and weekly schedules, following the administrative and scientific hierarchy, and supporting the Iraqi Journal of Laser to reach global rankings, in addition to developing clinics and laboratories, preparing a proposed curriculum entitled “Biological and Medical Laser Applications,” and attracting more applicants for postgraduate studies.
