Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser / University of Baghdad, Prof Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Unit of Scientific Affairs organized a scientific seminar entitled “Drugs: A Deadly Scourge”. The seminar presented by a group of distinguished faculty members from the institute: Prof. Dr. Asmaa M. Saleh, Asst. Prof Dr. Maisaa K. Habash, Asst. Prof. Dr. Leila M. Hassan, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Hanan J. Tahir.
The seminar attended by the Deputy Dean, Dr. Saif Aqeel, as well as a number of professors, employees, and students. The lectures discussed the health, social, and psychological effects of drug abuse and presented ways to prevent and raise awareness about the dangers of this scourge that particularly threatens young people.
The seminar emphasized the importance of cooperation between educational and community institutions to reduce the spread of drugs by promoting awareness and intensifying educational activities. At the end of the seminar, the Dean presented certificates of appreciation to the lecturers in appreciation of their efforts and role in making this scientific awareness activity a success.
