Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies, Prof Dr. Kadhum AbdulWahid Adem, the Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop titled “The Phenomenon of Human Trafficking in Iraq: Causes, Effects, and Solutions.”
The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Widian Yasin Obeid, a faculty member at the College of Education for Women. The session highlighted key strategies and methods to combat human trafficking, as well as solutions and proposals to protect vulnerable groups in society, particularly women and children to reduce their exploitation. Emphasis was also placed on raising community awareness to address this phenomenon and prosecute human traffickers.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Kadhum AbdulWahid Adem, the Head of the Medical and Biological Applications Branch, Dr. Layla Mohammed Hassan, the Head of the Engineering and Industrial Applications Branch, Dr. Hanan Jaafar Taher, and a select group of faculty members and staff from the institute.
