The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Institute organized a discussion session titled “Women and Laser Technologies”, in the presence of the Assistant Dean, Dr. Saif A. Mohammed, and a number of teaching staff and employees.
The session was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawaa A. Faris, a faculty member at the Institute. She discussed the growing role of women in scientific and technical fields, particularly in laser specializations and their multiple applications in medicine, industry, and scientific research. She also highlighted the most prominent achievements made by female researchers and scientists in this field, and the importance of supporting their active participation in the course of scientific and technological development.
The session witnessed interaction from the attendees through interventions and discussions that emphasized the importance of empowering women scientifically and professionally, and enhancing their presence in modern specializations, which contributes to achieving sustainable development and serving society.
