Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Continuing Education Unit at the Institute of Laser held a workshop titled “Barcode of Life,” presented by Prof. Dr. Asmaa M. Saleh, a faculty member in the Department of Medical and Biological Applications.
The workshop was attended by the Assistant Dean, Lecturer Dr. Saif A. Mohammed, along with faculty members and staff. During the session, she reviewed modern concepts related to the barcode of life and the use of advanced techniques such as human DNA fingerprinting, highlighting their importance in various scientific applications including disease diagnosis, studying biodiversity, combating human trafficking, ensuring research continuity, and supporting scientific research that serves human life and preserves biodiversity in the environment.
At the end of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Fadhil M. Lafta, on behalf of the Institute’s Dean, presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her scientific efforts and contribution to the success of this event, affirming the Institute’s commitment to supporting scientific activities that enhance the capabilities of academic staff.
