Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Unit of Women’s Affairs, in cooperation with the Unit of Continuing Education, held a workshop entitled: “Laser – A Modern Science and Opportunities for Women.” The event was attended by the Assistant Dean, Lecturer Dr. Saif A. Mohammed, along with a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawaa A. Faris, a faculty member at University of Baghdad / Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies. She addressed the importance of laser science as a modern field with wide-ranging applications in medical, industrial, and research domains, emphasizing the growing role of women in this vital specialization and the scientific and professional opportunities available for them to contribute to the advancement of science.
The lecturer also highlighted successful experiences of female researchers in the field of laser, encouraging greater participation of women in research and technical projects, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education’s directions to support the academic and professional empowerment of women.
At the end of the workshop, the Dean presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of her scientific efforts and her contribution to the success of the workshop activities.
