Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, and on the occasion of National Afforestation Day, the Agricultural Unit at the Institute organized a scientific workshop titled “Afforestation: Our Way to a Sustainable Environment”. The workshop was presented by Agricultural Engineer Zahraa Raad Huwaydi, and attended by a number of professors and staff.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of afforestation and its active role in improving the environmental situation and reducing pollution, as well as its contribution to enhancing environmental balance and increasing green spaces within educational institutions and the community.
The presenter also discussed modern methods of tree planting and care, as well as showcasing models of voluntary initiatives that contribute to spreading the culture of afforestation and environmental conservation.
The workshop emphasized the need for joint efforts between academic and community institutions to support sustainable afforestation programs, which contributes to improving the environment and promoting public health.
This event is part of the awareness activities organized by the Institute to instill a culture of sustainability and environmental awareness among its affiliates.
