Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, Dean of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, the Unit of Human Rights at the Institute, in cooperation with the High Commission for Human Rights, organized a scientific symposium entitled “Human Rights in the Higher Education Environment”. This event was part of the Institute’s efforts to enhance awareness within the academic community.
The symposium featured lectures by Dr. Ahmed Thabit and Dr. Rafal Salim Najeh from the High Commission for Human Rights, who discussed the fundamental concepts of human rights and the key principles of the Human Rights Charter. They emphasized the application of these principles in higher education institutions to ensure a safe, fair, and dignified educational environments for all.
The event was attended by Dr. Saif Aqeel, Assistant Dean, along with faculty members and staff of the Institute, who actively participated in discussions and interventions. At the end of the symposium, the Dean presented certificates of appreciation to the speakers, acknowledging their contributions to promoting human rights culture within educational institutions.
