Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Continuing Education Unit at the institute organized a workshop entitled “Plagiarism: Detection Methods and Avoidance Techniques”. The workshop presented by lecturer Mrs. Shimaa A. Abdullah from College of Dentistry – Ibn Sina.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among researchers and students about the importance of adhering to scientific and ethical standards in writing research papers. It also introduced the mechanisms for detecting plagiarism using approved software in universities and explained the correct methods for paraphrasing and organizing sources to avoid plagiarism in all its forms.
The workshop was attended by a number of professors, employees, and postgraduate students, who actively participated in the discussion by asking questions and seeking clarification on examination procedures and requirements for reputable scientific publication.
This event is part of the institute’s efforts to support researchers and develop their academic skills, and to promote a culture of responsible scientific research based on academic integrity and avoiding violations that affect the quality of research output.
