Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Kadhum AbdulWahid Adem, the Medical and Biological Applications Branch, headed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Layla Mohammed Hassan, organized a workshop titled “The Role of Surgical Lasers in Elderly Care.” The event took place in Dr. Mazen Manuel Elias Hall.
The workshop was presented by Lecturer Mohammed Ghaleb Rizouqi, a faculty member at the Laser Institute. During the session, he highlighted the importance of oral and dental health, gum diseases, bone and fibrous tumors, and soft tissue conditions in the elderly. He also discussed the deterioration of oral and dental health and the role of dentists in treating elderly patients through surgical methods or laser therapy, including the removal of bone tumors using modern techniques.
