Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, Dean of the Institute of Laser,  
The Human Rights Unit in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies organized a scientific workshop entitled “Data Protection and Privacy for Students”. The lecture was delivered by Asst. Lect. Ahmed S. Mohammed, a faculty member at the Institute, and was attended by the Dean of the Institute Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem and a number of faculty members and staff.
The workshop included an introduction to the concept of personal data protection and the importance of maintaining student privacy in the educational and digital environment, in addition to raising awareness of cyber risks and methods for the safe use of modern technologies and electronic communication platforms. The workshop also addressed the most prominent practices and procedures that contribute to protecting personal information and reducing privacy violations.
The workshop emphasized the importance of disseminating digital culture and enhancing security awareness among students and staff in line with modern technological developments and information security requirements.
At the end of the workshop, the Dean presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of his academic efforts and contribution to the success of the workshop.
