On Tuesday, April 21, the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies at University of Baghdad held the election of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate representative at the Institute. This took place during an official meeting chaired by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, and attended by the Academics Syndicate representative at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Omar Juma Omran.
During the meeting, Assistant Professor Dr. Layla Mohammed Al-Amiri, a faculty member at the Institute, was nominated to assume the role of Syndicate representative. The election process was conducted in the Prof. Dr. Mazin Manuel Elias Hall, with wide attendance from the Institute’s faculty and staff.
This strong turnout reflects the academic and administrative staff’s commitment to strengthening the Syndicate’s role in representing academics’ rights and supporting their scientific and professional careers, thereby contributing to the advancement of the scientific environment within the University.
The election was held in a transparent and democratic atmosphere, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and responsibility among faculty members, and affirming the importance of union work in serving the academic community and defending its rights.
