Under the auspices of the Dean of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Construction and Projects Unit at the Institute, held a scientific workshop entitled “Water Scarcity and Its Impacts Resulting from Climate and Regional Changes in Iraq.” The workshop was attended by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Kadhim A. Adem, the Assistant Dean, Lec. Dr. Saif A. Mohammed, and a number of professors and staff members.
The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Ali Saadoun Ahmed, a faculty member at the Institute. He addressed the causes of water scarcity in Iraq, the repercussions of climate change and regional water policies on the environmental and economic situation, as well as discussed proposed solutions to promote sound water resource management and adopt sustainable strategies to mitigate the crisis.
The workshop witnessed active engagement from the attendees through questions and interventions that enriched the discussion and highlighted the importance of concerted scientific and institutional efforts to address the country’s water security challenges.
At the end of the workshop, the Dean presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer in recognition of his scientific efforts in ensuring the success of the event.
