In accordance with the directives of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, The Institute of Laser or Postgraduate Studies, in cooperation with the Institute’s Women’s Affairs Coordination Office, organized a celebration to mark Iraqi Women’s National Day. The celebration included several activities, including a speech by the Dean of the Laser Institute, Professor Dr. Kadhum AbdulWahid Adem. In his speech, he praised the role of Iraqi women in all fields, whether political, social, or administrative, and their significant presence despite all challenges. Dr. Hana Sami Bashir, a liaison member of the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the Institute of Laser, then delivered a scientific lecture entitled “The Social Status of Women in Mesopotamia,” highlighting the active role of women from ancient times, which was diverse in various fields, to the present day. The ceremony was attended by a select group of professors and employees from the Laser Institute’s various branches and units.
