The Institute of laser for postgraduate Studies is a specialized academic institution associated with the University of Baghdad, and responds to the various requirements and needs in the modern scientific fields related to laser. The Institute was established in November 1993 as a research center, then it was transformed in January 1996 into a specialized institute for postgraduate studies.
The institute aims to qualify different and specialized cadres through academic programs in higher diploma, masters and doctorates in laser applications in basic sciences, engineering and medical sciences, and the consequent from applied and theoretical research that can be employed for the benefit of different beneficiaries. In addition to carrying out the work of assembling, installing and maintaining medical and industrial laser systems.
