The Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies announces the availability of seats for non-Iraqi students from around the world, on both private and public scholarships.
The Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies is a specialized academic institution affiliated with the University of Baghdad. It addresses the diverse needs and requirements in modern scientific fields related to lasers. The Institute was established in November 1993 as a research center and was transformed into a specialized postgraduate institute in January 1996.
The Institute aims to train diverse and specialized personnel through academic programs at the Higher Diploma, Master’s, and Doctoral levels in laser applications across basic sciences, engineering, and medicine. This includes applied and theoretical research that can be utilized by various stakeholders, as well as the assembly, installation, and maintenance of medical and industrial laser systems.
The Institute offers postgraduate scholarships for non-Iraqi students pursuing Master’s and Higher Diploma degrees in laser technology in medicine. The scholarship committee will review and evaluate all applications according to several criteria, including the applicant’s qualifications, academic achievements, language proficiency, and the program requirements.

Applicants must provide the university with the following required documents and complete the form below in their preferred language (Arabic/English):

Academic transcripts authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country and the Iraqi Embassy or Cultural Attaché in that country.

Passport valid for at least two years from the date of application.

Research plan (research proposal) for PhD applicants only.

Two letters of recommendation from faculty members holding the rank of Professor in the field of specialization.

Identification documents.

Certificate of good conduct issued by the applicant’s country of origin.

Identification documents issued by Iraqi government institutions and departments for non-Iraqi applicants residing in Iraq who are not employed.
