Within the framework of global academic rankings, Prof. Dr. Kadhum A. Adem, the Dean of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies at University of Baghdad, has secured a top-ranked researcher in the Scopus database, one of the world’s most important research databases. He ranked third at University of Baghdad out of more than 14,344 researchers, surpassing thousands of professors and researchers across various university departments.
At the level of the Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Kadhum ranked first, with 132 scientific papers published in reputable journals indexed in Scopus, in addition to recording 911 scientific citations and an h-index of 21, which is a precise indicator of the impact and quality of research.
His achievements are not limited to scientific publication alone; Dr. Kadhum has a remarkable record in innovation and application, reflected in his possession of 11 patents in various scientific and technical fields. This highlights his prominent role in linking scientific research to practical applications and enhances the actual value of research produced within higher education institutions.
Scopus data indicate that University of Baghdad has recorded more than 30,500 scientific documents published, a number that places it in an advanced position among Iraqi and regional universities in terms of scientific production. This reflects the growing research momentum within the university and increasing engagement in publishing in global databases.
