(Lasers and Eye Correction Operations)

The lecture was delivered by Instructor .Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan, specializing in laser eye surgery
The lecture was dealt with a simplified overview of the anatomy of the eye, its physiology, the method of vision, and the most common refractive errors such as nearsightedness, post-sightedness and astigmatism, methods of treating these errors and the role of laser in modern vision correction operations. Where Dr. Ahmed touched on a brief overview of the development of laser uses in these operations, starting with the first generation or superficial corneal scraping operations and ending with the third generation and femtolaser techniques (Femtolasik and Relex or femtosmile) through the second generation technology or the so-called Lasik.
The lecture also addressed the most important points of similarity and difference between these three techniques, its benefits and limitations and how to choose the appropriate operation for each eye.
