In line with the mission of the University of Baghdad to hold seminars and workshops on the topic of intellectual extremism, the Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized an educational workshop on the concept of intellectual extremism. The event was held in Dr. Mazen Manuel Hall and was presented by Assistant Lecturer Aqeel Yassin Tarath, a faculty member at the Laser Institute.
The workshop addressed the definition of intellectual extremism, its psychological and social causes, and methods for addressing and mitigating its impact. It also highlighted the risks posed to societal peace, its connection to terrorism, and the most effective means of combating extremism and curbing its spread through increased community awareness.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the Institute, Assistant Prof. Dr. Faisal Abdul Ameer, the Assistant Dean, Dr. Jawad Abdul Kadhum Hassan, as well as faculty members and administrative staff of the institute.
