The Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies discussed a Master’s thesis entitled “High Performance of Graphene\/Cobalt Core Shell in Si Solar Cell” by Rusul Ahmed Majid.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
The study aimed to develop and fabricate an ultra-thin silicon solar cell doped with graphene\/cobalt core-shell nanoparticles, and to investigate its optical properties and electric field distribution under various factors, including nanoparticle size, number, and film thickness.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
The results showed that the best performance was achieved by the ultra-thin silicon solar cell containing graphene\/cobalt core-shell nanoparticles (4 particles, 30 nm radius, and 2 nm film thickness), which produced a photocurrent of 26.28 mA\/cm\u00b2.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
The study concluded that the optical properties of the designed cells depend mainly on their structure and the doped nanoparticles, resulting in improved performance. The ultra-thin silicon solar cell doped with graphene\/cobalt core-shell nanoparticles showed the highest performance due to the plasmonic effect, which may open new avenues for research in this field.<\/span><\/h6>\n
