The Institute of Laser for Postgraduate Studies \/ University of Baghdad discussed the higher diploma thesis presented by the student Ala’a Abdul Salam Kitawi, entitled: “Comparison of Rosacea Treatment with Yellow Laser Monotherapy, Medical Therapy, and Combination of Laser and Medical Treatment” , under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hassan Abdul Qahar.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
This research aims to conduct a comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of different therapeutic approaches for Rosacea, by studying the use of yellow laser as monotherapy, traditional medical treatment, and the combined therapy of laser and medical treatment, with an analysis of the impact of each treatment approach on the severity of clinical symptoms, therapeutic response, and degree of clinical improvement in patients.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
The study focuses on clarifying the mechanism of action of the yellow laser in treating rosacea, particularly its selective effect on superficial blood vessels and vascular lesions associated with the disease, through the high absorption of hemoglobin at this wavelength, resulting in reduced redness, improved skin appearance, and reduced vascular inflammation.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
The research also addresses the role of medical therapy in controlling the inflammatory components of the disease, and its effect on accompanying symptoms such as persistent redness, inflammatory acne, and skin sensitivity.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
The study includes a detailed comparison between the results of monotherapy and combined therapy, highlighting the superiority of combining yellow laser and medical treatment in improving clinical outcomes, reducing treatment duration, and achieving a more stable response in the medium term, with reduced likelihood of relapse.<\/span><\/h6>\n
<\/h6>\n
It also pays special attention to the effect of adjusting laser parameters, such as energy and number of sessions, in addition to the timing of combination with medical treatment, on the safety of the procedure and the efficiency of therapeutic results.<\/span><\/h6>\n

The work aims to highlight the importance of choosing the appropriate treatment plan for each clinical case based on the severity and type of the disease, emphasizing the role of combined therapy as an effective option to improve the quality of life for rosacea patients, and achieving the best balance between therapeutic efficacy and safety.<\/span><\/h6>\n

The project was accepted as meeting the requirements for the award of the Higher Diploma in Laser in Medicine.<\/span><\/h6>\n
