The master’s student, Aya Riyadh Mijbel, and her supervisor, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hanan Jaafar Taher, and the Ph.D. student Saif Aqeel Mohammad and his supervisor, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Hadi Mutashar Abd have participated at the 4th<\/sup> \u00a0Scientific Conference of Physics and Advanced Materials<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 4th International Conference in Physical Science and Advanced Materials PAM2022\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Organized by the Department of Physics in the College of Science, University of Baghdad, in the presence of the Respected President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Munir Hamid Al-Saadi, and the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Karim Al-Qazzaz<\/p>\n

With their paper entitled:<\/p>\n

\u201cStudying the effect of lateral displacement on the concentration sensor\u00a0 compared to another sensor\u00a0 without displacement\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The research was to study the effect of offset welding, which is a lateral displacement welding, on the refractive index \/ concentration sensor using sodium chloride solution of different concentrations.<\/p>\n

Where a part of a coreless fiber was welded between two parts of a single-mode fiber with different lateral displacements, as the study showed that the sensitivity of the sensor is affected by the value of the lateral displacement<\/p>\n

The study also proved that the offset technique is effective in improving the sensitivity of the sensor, compared to another sensor without offset.<\/p>\n
