Under the patronage of the Dean of the Institute of Laser for postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Kadhum AbdulWahid Adem, and in cooperation with the Institute’s Continuing Education Unit, the Institute of Laser organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Social and Economic Effects of Divorce in Iraqi Society.” The workshop, presented by Dr. Alaa Ali Majeed, a lecturer at the College of Education for Women, aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of the high rate of divorce in Iraqi society. The workshop also included a definition of divorce, its causes and motivations, divorce resulting from domestic violence, and how to reduce this phenomenon. It focused on the psychological and social causes leading to divorce and the violence that results from it.<\/span><\/h6>\n
