In line with the slogan \u201cthe university in the service of society\u201d and the fact that universities are the factory of life to make progress in society and one of the goals of the University of Baghdad is to provide the best services for the scientific process and society to make us among the developed countries to keep abreast of scientific developments.<\/span><\/h6>\n
The university has achieved an important achievement by using the latest advanced equipment to treat citizens instead of wasting money in treatment through the opening of research medical laser clinics within the Laser Institute for Postgraduate Studies, University of Baghdad, where these clinics treat various pathological conditions. The clinics of the Medical Research Laser Institute are among the clinics Advanced and modern in the use and treatment of disease cases using research medical laser devices, these clinics were opened by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ali Al-Adeeb on 4\/25\/2011 to conduct medical research using laser devices and train specialized medical cadres through the Laser Higher Diploma Program in Medicine In order to provide the community with Iraqi laser medical services, the work was expanded to include the provision of therapeutic assistance to patients in November 2012, based on the university\u2019s view of community service.<\/span><\/h6>\n
The clinics were provided with medical laser devices, and work began to treat various disease cases. The activity of these clinics was approved within the consulting office in October 2012, for the purpose of providing laser services in medicine as well as therapeutic services.<\/span><\/h6>\n
Clinics are<\/span><\/h6>\n
– Dental clinic<\/span><\/h6>\n
The uses of laser in dentistry are in research and treatment. The dental clinic includes (2) laser devices, as well as a number of supporting devices in the specialty of the clinic.<\/span><\/h6>\n
– Eye Clinic<\/span><\/h6>\n
Laser is used in ophthalmology in research. The clinic includes (5) ophthalmic devices: Excimer laser used for vision correction, Nd: YAG laser devices (2), Diode laser and KTP laser used in ophthalmology, especially when complications occur for patients with diabetes. Conducting higher diploma students\u2019 research in laser ophthalmology is on these devices. It is hoped that the treatment procedure will be carried out on real patients when an ophthalmologist specializing in (laser in ophthalmology) becomes available.<\/span><\/h6>\n
-Photodynamic therapy clinic<\/span><\/h6>\n
Laser is used in research and treatment in the treatment of joint pain, as well as some cases of skin diseases. The clinic includes (3) laser devices with different wavelengths.<\/span><\/h6>\n
-HO:YAG Clinic<\/span><\/h6>\n
To conduct pathological analyses, there are specialized devices (2) and an optical microscope connected to an electronic calculator with a general blood analyzer and a biochemistry analysis device, as well as a number of supporting devices to complete the research requirements for master’s students<\/span><\/h6>\n
-Nd:YAG Laser Medical Clinic<\/span><\/h6>\n
The uses of laser are in research and treatment: In the treatment of skin and cosmetic diseases, as in the case of tattoo removal, skin pigmentation, and treatment of blood tumors (nevi).<\/span><\/h6>\n
-CO2 laser medical clinic<\/span><\/h6>\n
Laser is used in research and treatment: In treating cases of removing acne scars, varicose veins, treating wrinkles, burn effects, and removing skin tumors.<\/span><\/h6>\n
-Diode laser medical clinic<\/span><\/h6>\n
Laser is used in research and treatment: Removing unwanted hair, especially in women, and as a first stage in removing grease, as well as some cases of surgical cuts, especially diseases of the ears, nose and throat, varicose veins and spider veins. The clinic includes two devices with different wavelengths and according to use.<\/span><\/h6>\n
